Arve Andersson
Chairman of the Board
Mr. Andersson holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Norges Handelshøyskole, Bergen, Norway and an engineering degree in electronics from Sørlandets Tekniske Skole, Grimstad, Norway. He recently held the position as CEO of Eastern Drilling ASA from start of the company.
Andersson has 20 years of experience from executive positions in shipping and offshore from among others the Andreas Ugland companies, with particular focus on contracting and managing newbuild programs.  He has experience from oil & energy in Kongsberg Våpenfabrikk. 
Mr. Andersson is a Norwegian citizen with residence in Grimstad, Norway.

Capt. Sidney J. Hynes
Deputy Chairman
Capt. Hynes is a Master Mariner and has more than 25 years of experience in the marine industries. Current executive positions include Executive Chairman of Oceanex in Canada, previous President and CEO of Canship Limited, President and Director of Shipinu Ltd., and Acting President and CEO of Marine Atlantic Inc. Currently also Chairman of the Boards of Canship Ugland Inc.; Marine Services International; and Fisheries and Marine Institute of Memorial University’s Industry Advisory board; board member in Penney Ugland Inc./ Penney Ugland II Inc.; Shipinu Marine Services Inc.; Deer Lake Oil & Gas Ltd.; and the Advisory Board for the Leslie Harris Centre of Regional Policy and Development. Capt. Hynes is a Canadian citizen with residence in Newfoundland, Canada.

Anne-Lene Midseim
Board member
Mrs. Midseim holds a law degree from the University of Oslo, Norway. She is currently Vice President, Corporate Social Responsibility for Hydro in Oslo. Previously engaged as legal advisor to the Norwegian Oil Ministry in connection with the establishment of a petroleum administration in East Timor. From 1998 to 2006 she worked as a lawyer in Norsk Hydro ASA’s legal department. Her previous work experience includes working as a lawyer in the law firm Vogt & Co (now Vigt & Wiig) as well as a consultant in the Norwegian Oil and Energy Ministry.  Mrs. Midseim is a Norwegian citizen with residence in Oslo, Norway.

Geir Tore Hjelle
Board member
Mr. Hjelle holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Norges Handelshøyskole, Bergen, Norway. He is the CFO of J.Hagenæs Shipping AS and was previously CFO of Active Subsea AS. He has more than 20 years experience from financial and management positions in the shipping and aquaculture industry. Mr. Hjelle is a Norwegian citizen with residence in Ålesund, Norway. 

Marianne Lie
Board Member
Ms. Lie has studied Social Science at the University of Oslo. She is currently working as an independent consultant with several board memberships. Ms. Lie has an extensive background from managerial positions in the maritime and energy sector, including 16 years in the Norwegian Shipowners Association of which from 2002 to 2008 as President of the association. Her experience also includes three years as President of the hydropower company Vattenfall Norge AS.
Ms. Lie is a Norwegian citizen, resident in Oslo, Norway.

Anil Deshpande
Board Member
Mr. Deshpande holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Bombay University,  a  Degree in Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) from Shivaji University in India; and  first rank holder in the one year long Post Graduate diploma program in Professional Shipping at Oslo. Mr Deshpande is the CEO of Foresight Ltd. London and has some 34 years of wide experience in the marine Industry. During last 23 years he has been in London (except for 8 years in Cyprus as MD of Foresights Shipping Division) with the Foresight Group as Joint Managing Director and part of a team involved in Shipping, Offshore Drilling, Marine projects and Hospitality. He has been at the forefront in the industry both in the development and management of Foresights varied interests. He has been at the helm of techno commercial development of specialized ships, shipyard contracts, innovative Charter and financial structures and close relationships with customers in Europe, Far East, Middle East and Asia.  Mr Deshpande is an Indian citizen resident in the UK.

 

Visit of Oil- and Energy Minister to Cecon.



The Oil- and Energy Minister, together with a delegation from the Ministry visited Cecon and was briefed on current activities.
The visit was in connection with a series of visits to the industry in preparation of a paper on future oil- and gas activities.

  • Morten Kilen (43) is appointed Operations Director in Cecon ASA.
  • Andrew Towler (50) is appointed Business Development Director in Cecon ASA, currently based in Perth, Australia.
  • Jørn Otto Gundersen (47) is appointed Commercial Director in Cecon ASA.
